VoiceTrail is designed as a personal journaling app. We try to keep data collection limited to what is needed to run the app, provide purchases, and deliver optional cloud transcription.
Information stored on your device
Your journal notes, local drafts, app settings, exported files, and locally retained audio recordings are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or delete them.
Microphone and speech recognition
VoiceTrail asks for microphone permission so you can record voice notes. When you use cloud speech recognition, audio may be sent from your device to the selected speech recognition provider so it can be transcribed. Depending on your language, region, settings, and entitlement, providers may include Volcengine Doubao, Deepgram, or Apple Speech.
VoiceTrail does not intentionally store your full journal audio or note text on our backend during normal cloud transcription configuration and quota checks. Speech providers may process audio and transcript data according to their own service terms and privacy policies.
Purchases, entitlement, and usage data
If you use in-app purchases or cloud transcription, our backend may receive and store an anonymous app or user identifier, StoreKit transaction information, product IDs, purchase, expiration, or revocation status, entitlement state, and cloud transcription usage duration. This is used to unlock features, enforce plan limits, restore purchases, prevent abuse, and diagnose service problems.
Diagnostics and support
The app can generate diagnostic logs for troubleshooting. These logs are intended to contain timing, status, and error information, not full journal content. If you send logs or screenshots to support, we will use them only to help resolve your request.
Exports and backups
VoiceTrail can export Markdown or JSON backups through iOS share and Files workflows. Once exported, those files are controlled by you and by the destination you choose, such as Files, iCloud Drive, another app, or an external service.
Advertising and tracking
VoiceTrail does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell your personal data, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Deleting data
You can delete local VoiceTrail data by deleting content inside the app or by deleting the app from your device. If you want to request deletion of backend entitlement or usage records associated with your app identifier, contact us at xhr1138743695@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
